Acupuncture is used at P2P as part of an integrated approach to the management of pain and inflammation and a means of stimulating the body’s own healing chemicals in order to aid recovery and enhance rehabilitation. It involves the use of single-use, pre-sterilised, disposable needles that pierce the skin at specific acupuncture points. ​ Acupuncture within physiotherapy is implemented in accordance with clinical and research evidence and can be a valuable tool to aid treatment of many musculoskeletal (physiotherapy requiring) conditions. Acupuncture can also be used effectively to help treat some headaches and migraines. ​ Acupuncture has a cumulative effect and therefore 4-6 sessions are usually recommended to gain full effect. ​At P2P you can book standalone 45 minute sessions or a course of 4 or 6 sessions is bookable at a discounted rate.
